Write. Every Day.

Ever since I can remember, I have wanted to be a writer.  Perhaps I already have been, but I'm not sure I personally lay claim to those tv news stories or even those grants I've written.  Sure I've secured lots of money for work, but the writing existing in those grants is only a portion of what put those grants among the top of the competitors.  I like to think the ideas existing within the grants are really, really awesome.  Although, I will say that if I am not excited about the ideas within the grant, I keep looking.  Why settle?  Of course, I don't typically ask, "why" I ask "why not?"  It's more fun that way.

So my dream is to be a writer and I thought this would be a good way to help hold myself accountable to write every day.  Even if it is bad.  Write.  Even if I am ill.  Write.  Even if I am busy, I should sprint to the computer and write.  Just a little bit.  If you think about it, it makes sense.  Writing is like playing an instrument.  You need to practice every day and keep those lip muscle in tact.  How about a sports figure?  They practice often and when they are not practicing, they are still working out.  Use it or lose it.  Oh!  I have truly seen some horrendous misuse of words in an email lately.  Also, I was watching someone type and the misspellings of an adult were unbelievable.  Read people.
